Wages protection System (WPS) for QIIB's corporate Customers through E-corporate 'online'

The Wages Protection System (WPS) is a comprehensive electronic system initiated by Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Qatar Central Bank to monitor and document the process of worker wage payment, subject to the Labor Law No. (14) of 2004. The aim of the system is to ensure that Employers are committed to the wage payment process systematically and in a timely manner pursuant to the Rules and Conditions stated within the Labor Law. WPS covers all Institutions registered with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

QIIB has developed the WPS system, fully electronically, interconnected with the systems of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs to process the salaries of our corporate clients through Internet banking by following some simple steps.

What is WPS?

WPS is a fully integrated and centralized solution initiated by Qatar Central Bank for collecting, storing, and providing the data regarding salary payments made via Bank Transfers.

 Is it mandatory?

Registration is mandatory for all companies, except for the following:

• Embassies.
• Qatar Financial center entities.
• As for government institutions and the public sector.

 (Note: the exceptions must be approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.)

What is the objective of WPS?

To safeguard the rights of Employees in receiving their Salaries on time and as per their contract.

What is the registration procedure?

If the employer wants to comply with the Wages Protection System (WPS) and start submitting the (Salary Information File SIF) on WPS Click here, you must visit the International Islamic website (PDF forms website link) and fill out the form for registration approved by the bank and submit it to one of the International Islamic branches.

Is there a charge for registering?

WPS registration is free of charge.

 Registering for WPS will require the following:

1. A Corporate Bank Account with QIIB.
2. Complet the Registration Form click here
3. A valid Trade License.
4. Valid Commercial Registration.
5. Establishment Identity Documents “Computer ID”.
6. QID copy for the Authorized Signatory(s).

WPS Salary processing fees:

Please be informed that as per Qatar Central Bank guidelines, a monthly fee will be charged to the Corporate Account of the Company for the processing of Employee salary file.
