FATCA

The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act ("FATCA") is an American law enacted in 2010.  It is being implemented through a combination of US Regulations and Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) between the governments of the United States of America and the State of Qatar.  From 1st July 2015, QIIB will be required to comply with applicable obligations under the IGA, one of which is the reporting of specified financial and non-financial information for accounts held by specified US persons with QIIB.

Based on the above, you are required to complete required additional forms (please click on the links provided on the right of this screen to access the forms) and submit the same at nearest QIIB branch by 5th August 2015, to avoid any inconveniences to your banking operations.

By Providing these documents you will allow us to establish your precise classification under FATCA as either a US person, persons with US Indicia or a Non-US person.  FATCA regulation mandates QIIB to report to the Qatar Central Bank information about financial accounts held by US persons, persons with US Indicia and also about foreign entities in which US taxpayers hold a substantial ownership
