Al-Jamal: We are keen on providing the highest security for all our clients

 

For the 4th consecutive year, QIIB has received the highest certificate in the protection of banking cards data (PCI-DSS). 

The certificate is granted to institutions with the best security standards in the critical field of Information Security.

QIIB Deputy CEO Mr Jamal al-Jamal was handed over the certificate by Mr. Ray Vincent, head (Business) SISA Company in Qatar, Africa, Asia and Pacific Ocean, during a ceremony held at the bank headquarters in Grand Hamad Street.

Among those present were Mr. Ali Hamad al-Musaifri, QIIB Chief of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs, Mr. Omar Abdul Aziz al-Meer, Chief of Business Development, Mr. Hesham Mohameden, Chief Information Security Officer and Mr. Abdul Rahman Hassan, Director of IT Governance. The certificate award ceremony was also attended by Mr. Nigel Arolcar – assistant director (Business Division) SISA for Qatar, Africa and Indonesia.

Mr. Al-Jamal commented on receiving this certificate and said, “We are extremely happy to maintain the highest international standards in the field of protecting our customers’ data. In fact, this certificate reflects our long-term investments in Cyber Security with the purpose of achieving this outstanding level in the field of security and customer data confidentiality.”

He said, “QIIB was always keen on providing the highest standards in relation to all its transactions, services and customers’ data. Today, we have received this certificate for the fourth consecutive year, hence proving that we are moving forward, meeting the expectations of customers and maintaining their interests in the best way. "

Al-Jamal stated that “The PCI-DSS certificate awarded to QIIB is not a regular one but rather the result of the cumulated plans, expertise and smart investment in technology. We are proud to be among the leading banks in the field of maintaining the highest security standards in various services.”

QIIB Deputy CEO said, “QIIB will continue its successful investment in developing systems, software and technology, which contribute in achieving the highest international standards in this field and mitigating the various risks, in particular those related to cyber security, currently considered as an international challenge.”

Al-Jamal recognised “the outstanding level” of SISA, a leading company in the information security and protection of customers’ data. QIIB is keen on benefiting from the SISA’s extensive expertise in the field of Cyber Security and protection of customers’ data, he noted.

Mr. Hesham Mohameden, Chief Information Security Officer, stated that the world was now facing significant challenges in tackling the increasing numbers of electronic crimes, hacking and phishing, which consequently have increased our efforts to ensure the highest standards of Cyber Security in protecting our customers’ financial data.”

During the certificate award ceremony, Mr Ray Vincent, head (Business)- SISA Company in Qatar, Africa, Asia and Pacific Ocean, stated: “The interest given to the security of data and banking systems and enhancement of Cyber Security is currently prioritised in the banking field. QIIB award with the PCI-DSS certificate proves that the Bank succeeded in achieving the highest security standards in the international banking sector”.
